Zayda and Delia Jo's Story
When I found out I was pregnant I was very, very scared and in shock. I was only 14 years old.
My Granny googled “closest pregnancy center” and read some reviews about Reliance and suggested that I make an appointment.
When I went to Reliance, I was really nervous, but they were all so kind. When I got the results that I was for sure pregnant – I felt my heart drop because I knew that my life was changing and I wasn’t sure that I wanted to keep this baby.
I wanted an abortion because I knew that my life would change and I thought that I couldn’t rodeo anymore and my parents wouldn’t support me. I even thought that my boyfriend Cole would not want me to keep the baby. Neither of us knew what abortion really was, but we just knew we weren’t ready to be parents.
After the test, I went into the ultrasound room and when I saw my baby, she had arms and legs…the first thought that came to my mind was “that is my baby!” I knew then that abortion wasn’t an option.
My Granny came in and saw the ultrasound and the nurse gave me so much helpful information. The next day I told my mom, and her reaction was way better than I thought. I saw that I did have support.
Reliance made my whole pregnancy easier and helped me see the value of my life and my baby’s life.
Cole, my boyfriend, even says that if it wasn’t for Reliance, he knows that our daughter Delia wouldn’t be here.
People tell you that it’s just a clump of cells and Reliance helped us see that it was a baby with a heart and a beautiful life. I attended childbirth classes and have received so much material support when I couldn’t afford to buy formula and diapers.
The support at Reliance is amazing – we couldn’t do this without them. Delia is 2 years old now and I can’t imagine my life without her. I have started to rodeo again, and Delia loves horses. My life is incredible, not easy, but it’s so worth it…Reliance helped me see that.
Kayla's Story
KAYLA’S STORY
Serenity Grace— Born January 2021
It was May of 2020, and the world was still on a Covid-19 lockdown when Kayla learned she was pregnant. Unfortunately, her new relationship became explosive and she had to end it. Now in her thirties, with two older children, the thought of starting over while alone as a single mother was overwhelming. Though she had always identified as a pro-life Christian, panic set in and she began to believe abortion was her only option.
Determined to try to “fix” her situation, Kayla began a chemical abortion. “I took it (the first abortion pill) in hand and for a few seconds I looked down at the pill,” she recalled. “The still small voice saying, ‘Kayla, what are you doing? Are you sure about this?’ That voice was drowned out by an ever-louder voice, she said, shouting, ‘It’s too late, you’re already here and you’ve already made your decision so follow through!’”
After swallowing the first abortion pill and being sent home with the second pill, Kayla felt “cold, numb, alone and afraid.” Less than 24-hours after, she cried out to God asking Him to save her baby.
Kayla searched the internet for help and found Heartbeat International`s Abortion Pill Reversal website. She was connected to a compassionate nurse who answered her questions and found a local provider to begin the progesterone reversal treatment to save her baby`s life. In addition, Kayla began a cross-country move from CA to FL the day after starting the abortion pill reversal regimen, and Heartbeat’s network was able to provide her with immediate help from coast to coast.
In January of 2021, she delivered a healthy baby girl named Serenity Grace. Kayla told Heartbeat, “I hope to encourage, even if just one woman, to trust God if you are, like I was, in a dark and scary place of an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy, because life is a gift. There is hope. Trust God! For His love is everlasting.”

January is Sanctity of Human Life Month, and this year Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) is celebrated on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
This is a day we set aside every year to focus on the value of every human life since President Reagan proclaimed it in 1984. SOHLS has had a great impact year after year, and its impact continues post-Roe.
We want to ensure you are equipped with the resources you need when connecting with your local churches to build relationships and raise awareness for the incredible work you are doing to reach women in your community, not only on this special Sunday but all through the year.

Read the Heartbeat International Amicus Brief
We’re living in a powerful moment in history—a time when women in crisis have more opportunities and support than ever before. That's why Heartbeat International has joined the biggest challenge to Roe v. Wade.
Heartbeat filed an amicus brief in the United States Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
This is a direct challenge to the antiquated arguments of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey: that women need an abortion to participate in society.
You and I know that’s never been true. Now Heartbeat International is seizing this moment to make the argument that women today are already empowered, strong, and abortion does absolutely NOTHING for them.

Thank You United States Senator Joe Manchin for Standing Against Taxpayer Funding for Abortion
Senator Joe Manchin stood as the sole Democrat and the deciding vote to save the Hyde amendment in the federal budget that was passed late Tuesday, August 10. The Hyde Amendment stops taxpayer funding of abortion through Medicaid and has been a key target of the pro-abortion movement ever since President Biden took office.
As history shows us, when government subsidizes a service or product, the use of that service goes up, and it is no different with abortion.
This courageous stand by Senator Manchin ensures that abortion providers, like Planned Parenthood, won’t profit further off underprivileged women who already feel that abortion is their only option. Instead of coercing women into abortion through federal funding, we should work to ensure that every woman receives love and support during an unexpected pregnancy.
Pregnancy help organizations provide this compassionate support and real options to women in need.
We thank Senator Manchin for standing with the 58% of Americans who oppose using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion.
